On November 4th, immerse yourself in the magic of Miami at the HistoryMiami Museum’s 6th annual Culture Fest 305.  Celebrate life in the Magic City by taking in the unique sights, sounds and flavors that make Miami, Miami.

  • 11:00 AM – Association of Performing Arts of India, Indian classical music performance on sitar
  • 12:00 PM – Milos Damnjanovic, Serbian traditional dance 
  • 1:00 PM – Rocío Leguizamón y Germán Filipeli, Argentine tango 
  • 1:20 PM – DJ Memo of Scratch DJ Academy, DJing and turntablism 
  • 1:45 PM – Mariachi Sol de Oro, Mariachi music 
  • 3:05 PM – Kuyayky Foundation, Andean music and dance parade 
  • 3:15 PM – Ezequiel Torres, Afro-Cuban Orisha batá drum and dancea close-up of a hand Performances will be presented with ASL interpretation

 

Demonstrations

  • 11:30 AM – Liliane Nerette-Louis, Marie Romaine Desir, and Marie Reole Moncy, Haitian traditional food demonstration 
  • 12:30 PM – Ezequiel Torres, Everglades National Park, and the National Council for Traditional Arts, Orisha deities in the Everglades discussion* 
  • 2:30 PM – Sangwon Jeong, Korean Taekwondo demonstration and workshopa close-up of a hand Demonstrations will be presented with ASL interpretation.

 

Interactive Demonstrations

  • Calligraphy demonstrations – Asian American Advisory Board
  • Balkan traditions – Cultural Square, Rakija Lounge, and Milos Damnjanovic
  • Food demonstrations – Edible South Florida
  • Everglades education and batá drum making – Ezequiel Torres, Everglades National Park, and National Council for Traditional Arts*
  • Andean traditions – Kuyayky Foundation 
  • Haitian traditional food demonstrations – Liliane Nerette-Louis, Marie Romaine Desir, and Marie Reole Moncy
  • Carnival costume making and steel pan music – Miami Carnival
  • DJ demonstrations and turntablism workshops – Scratch DJ Academy
  • Woodturning demonstrations – South Florida Woodturners Guild
  • Connection Bingo – 10 Days of Connection
